My DSlite suddenly switched to auto start-up (goes straight to game instead of ds menu) I took out the game cartridge and went to settings and it was on manual mode, so I clicked it anyway to make sure and confirmed, then turned off the ds, put the game cartridge back in, and turned it on, but it went straight to the game again! Is there a reset button or anything? What the heck!
Do you have a flashcard (for example a r4 or an AceKard2i) Because flashcards always start-up immediantly... I hope this helped!
It's not, I repeat NOT the ds at fault. What is your flash cart-I have heard some r4 type cards do this because they thought it was pointless seeing the ds menu.
It's not the flashcart, it is the DS. There's an option to skip the menu and boot straight into an inserted game regardless of whether that "game" is a flashcart or not. I don't recall if there's a "reset to factory settings" option, but if not, removing the battery for a while should do the trick. You'll lose your personal settings (ie name, birthday, time, maybe wifi settings), though.
Some of the old flashcarts do force the Auto Start to cartridge. Like the R4, and likely many of it's clones. We need more info from the topic creator, telling us which card he is using, if it does it with real game carts, etc.
No, I know that, but I have my doubts that it's what the OP is referring to. He does say "game cartridge" rather than "flashcart", and this is in the non-emulation help section, so...
Original poster here! 1. It didn't do automatic start-up at first, always went to main menu. Then one time it DID auto start. 2.It IS with the ttds card, but I switched the ds to manual mode and confirmed several times, and still does it. 3.I have been advised to try unhooking the battery for 10 seconds to reset the ds. I can't try it with any actual games, as I don't have any. ONLY TTDS CARD. P.S. Thanks for all the replies, I wasn't expecting so much feedback so quick!
...Alright then, it is the flashcart's fault. As others have said, many flashcarts do force autoboot, but this is unrelated to the DS settings. If you try a real game, the DS will start up as normal. And as far as I know, there's no way to prevent flashcart autobooting; removing the battery won't help.
