DSi XL good for emulation (n64 games maybe)?

    I was here thinking.
DSi XL have X4 the ram of a 64 (16 against a 4), better clock speed, the cpu i'm not sure (coudn't find the DSi spec for that.
Do you people think it will be able to handle N64 emulation?
Also, with the bigger screen, i think it will be good for SNES and Genesis emulation, since in my DS Lite the borders are somewhat cut.

    No.

    It's just a bigger dsi.

Which has the same specs as the ds...just with a small bit of ram.

Further more the ds is actually weaker than the original playstation.

Your dreaming too big or miss read the specs-it's just a bigger dsi with better battery life.

    I saw it here

It sounds a little bit more powerful than this.

But if I read this right...only a little is certainly NOT enough to run an n64 game.

But yet it says that the specs are the same as the original DSi, just a bigger screen... if the previous DSi couldn't then what makes you think that this new one could?

You have to remember that just because something has more RAM, does not mean it has more power.

A system to emulate needs more than double to get any real kick.

The psp goes to 333mhz which can do it, provided it's programmed correctly.

In addition...according to wikipedia the stat's for this are THE SAME as the current dsi.

We know that can't do it, besides it's using 2 cores, but it can't run them both at full steam, hence why there has never been a full on 3-D game that uses both screens activly.

I will admit I just checked the original ds's specs.

It is more powerful, but not enough to emulate anything past a gba (???) prehaps...if they get something amazing going like a custom firmware, or that new supercard ds2 can pull of it's claims.

The processing speed of a DS is far less as well...

There actually isn't much point to this topic now... It may as well just disappear.

Well, a shame it can't emulate 64. But at least it might be able to do GBA. Great news, since it doesn't have space for it anymore.
And i wasn't aware of the fact that the DS does not work with both screens with full capacity at the same time, how strange '-'
