I'm going to get a new DS because mine is broken. :'(
My question is if I buy a DSi, and use an Acekard 2i will Nintendo be able to block it using a firmware update? Because if that's the case I'll just buy a new DS Lite.

if it was me, i'd get a ds lite. if you think you want those games that use the cameras, then go for the dsi.

i don't think so, if they could, they would have done it with the ds lite.

No, because the ds lite doesn't use firmware updated from nintendo.

that was also something i got confused when reading.

if you use an acekard 2i and use firmware for the acekard 2i, then how could nintendo block it using firmware if it's not their firmware?

I mean can Nintendo block the AceKard2i with a DSi firmware update.
