I'm having a problem with R4ultra for the DSi. I can't get it to work: i have used firmware 1.55, tried changing FAT settings, and tried earlier versions of firmware, all with same message. When i click on button on DSi for R4DS Ultra it comes up with 'An error has occurred ... refer to Nintendo DSi Operations manual.' There is nothing obvious in the manual. Can anyone help?

What firmware does your DSi have?
The 1.4 DSi firmware blocks flashcarts.

Do you have the R4i version of the ultra?

This thread offers a fix for the R4i Ultra.

You need a DSi without the 1.4 firmware, or a DS or DS Lite to run the update.

Take the R4i out of the DSi. Turn on the DSi and look at what firmware version it is. (Top screen, bottom edge).

then you must update the flashcard.

Unfortunately you cannot update your flashcard on your DSi because it is at 1.4

You will need to use a DS/DS Lite or a DSi with 1.3 or less.

Thanks for help, but managed to get sorted using following:

    http://www.r4ds-ds.com/pages/R4i-%26-R4-Ultra-Kernel.html

Go to part that says notice[/u] and follow instruction. The instruction looks weird but it does work!
