    This is not a firmware problem.

    I've got the 4 GB version, and got games to work yesterday, without upgrading the card.

    An Arm7 patch works for me.

    I got Zelda and DK and several other games to play perfectly.

    If anyone needs help, I'll put instructions here.

    Try copying all your games and savs to your computer and then format the DS-X. When you boot up the DS-X again it should recreate all the folders or you can create them yourself and move your files back to the apps folder.

    To format you can just right click on the dsx drive in windows explorer and pick format, default options should be fine.

    I would love to know about this patch for the games

    I'm assuming the patch modifies the rom, yes?

    I did a quick search for Arm7 patch and didn't get anything...

    I use the Arm7 Injector file. It has a readme file but basically you put a rom in 1 folder (they suggest sim city ds jap version) and the rom you want to patch in the other folder and you run fix.bat

    It patches games that use the bigger save file to work on cards like the DS-X and other cards with older firmware.

    Hello,

    Do not format your DS-X. It is not necesary.

    I've constructed a step by step Fix. Everyone can do this.

    This trick doesn’t allways work, but most of the time it does.

    What you need:

    - 0864 Sim City (J) (Yes, the Japanese rom from this site);
    - The Rom that will not work, (I’ll take Zelda as an example);
    - DS Lazy (Google is your friend);

    How to go about it:

    - Download and unzip “DS Lazy”;
    - Download and unzip “Sim City”;
    - Download and unzip “Zelda”;
    - Put “Sim City” and “Zelda” in a seperate folder. Keep your windows open all the time;
    - Start up “DS Lazy”;
    - Click on the button with “…” (left upper side);
    - Load up “Sim City’;
    - Click on “NDS UNPACK”;
    - After a little while it will open the folder “NDS UNPACK”;
    - Rename this folder to “Sim City” or something. Keep it open;
    - Now go back to “DS Lazy”, click on the “…” button and load "Zelda";
    - Click on “NDS UNPACK”;
    - Again after a little while it will open a folder “NDS UNPACK”;
    - Place this folder next to the folder of “Sim City”;
    - Copy the “Arm7.bin” file from “Sim City” to “Zelda” and replace the original;
    - Go back to DS Lazy and click on “NDS PACKER”;
    - You’re being asked to name this file;
    - You can name it “Zelda (Fixed)” or something;
    - Click OK and wait for the programm to finish;
    - Copy this Rom to your card an have fun…

    Little note: if you want to fix more games (and that is very likely ;-) ), delete the “DS UNPACK’ file after fixing the game. Every time you unpack a new game DS Lazy will create the same new map, so that will be confusing.
    Hang on to Sim City for future use…

    This methode works for the DS-X, but I think it will work for the R4 and M3 aswell…

    Greetz Dolphin…
