My touch screen on my DS is really messed up. Its been like that for while but I've ignored it. It gets really annoying sometimes though. It's very offset too. If I put my pen at a certain point the Touch screen recognizes it about 1 cm to the left. I know its past software repair. I saw a website that could fix it for me. But it cost like $50 total or something and I saw a replacement touch screen on DX for like $5 or so. So I was wondering if it's hard to replace a touch screen. I do have some experience in working with stuff like that so its not like im a complete noob. I step by step guide would be greatly appreciated too. I did google this and found a lot of guides but i couldn't tell which ones were crap and which ones weren't.

    Thanks for any help.

From what I seen, extreme care is advised-few people just tried to change thier's themselves and now thier ds's are dead :(

If there is am "mod shop" that does system chipping ask if they can repair it-that way you can blame them if anything goes wrong rather than yourself.

But...prehpas you can avoid repair altogether.

Have you tried to re-calibrate the touch screen-just take your time and touch the very center of the red dot.

If that still fails...then ethier screen repair or do as I did-trade it in for another ds-eb games took mine-2cm off-and they never knew XD

I've tried calibrating many times. It never ends. It just keeps going and going. and sometimes I cant touch one sometimes because it goes too far to the right and since the touch screen doesn't work to the right I cant press it. For the trade in don't you have to have a warranty? because im pretty sure mine is expired

    Depends-what country you in?

In eb games you don't need warrenty-as long as it starts it fine.

Also mine did that as well... my guess is you had the same issue as mine-OR you got my old ds lite XD

well I got mine from game stop new so i doubt that. And thats wierd that you can just trade in your DS for another one. I guess i could just use the excuse that I want another color, which would be nice.
