ds screen went purple, was fine on restart

in the middle of pictochat the ds screen went purple, ds left the room when it went purple but was fine after a restart.

it was described to me as the "purple screen of death"

has this ever happened to anyone here? sounds like it just froze but i would like to get an idea of what happened/ what parts i may need to order if any.

it was running stock, no mods or slot 1/2 devices. a retail cart in slot 1 but during pictochatting room A

 

You probably removed/tampered with the card during pictochat.

When in Pictochat, if you remove the gamecart that is in at the time, you will get a different coloured screen dependent on the firmware version of the DS. Most likely, it was just you knocked the gamecart. Or you put a game into the slot whilst in the pictochat room.

It's nothing to worry about, no problem at all.
