DS question

I'm a noob. I have a DS with a r4 card. I'm able to load and play games. My question is, when you get to to page that has all your games, There's an icon on upper left. I know that's the light dimmer. The icon on upper right is an R that turns green and if you press again it turns red. What is that and what does it do? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This enables/disables the soft reset button code. I'll explain:
If it is green and you start a game, when playing the game you can press L+R+A+B+X+Y at the same time and it will reset back to the R4 menu.
If it is red when you start a game, pressing those buttons will no do anything.
The only advantage to having it red (soft reset off) is that a few games might not run properly if it's on (but I've never had any problems caused by having it on).
