How badly does a virus affect a DS/R4? any kind of virus. What I mean by this is ( I don't really have a DS virus just asking) like if you download a game that has been affected with a virus.

I don't think this will happen, I have had a R4 original for ages and loads of games have bean on it without a problem of any kined, Apart for the ones that don't work... until YSMenu!

The DS cannot be affected by Viruses built for Windows (or even Macs). They are different things.

Your files on your MicroSD may be corrupted, but the DS will not be affected.

Do not run any NDS binary from unknown sources, and you should be safe from malware.

Lucky for us, although with the on-line capabilities of the DSi it won't be too long now

the NDS is invincible to viruses/malware

But since everything going to your ds must go through your computer first:
Get everything from RomUlation and GBAtemp only (and links provided on their site) and your comp should be fine.
