    Hi guys
Checked the forums, but can't find anything similar

Friend as just purchased a second hand DS Lite which I have put a R4 into but the DS does not recognise it. Have taken the R4 from my DS and tried that but it still doesn't recognise the card.
Had a similar issue with another DS but didn't worry to much as that one had problems reading proper carts

Any suggestions as to why the old DS won't read the cart but newer one will

    Cheers

    Larry

...are you sure it's a dslite we are talking about, or the dsi?

So this card does work on a ds, just not the other you mentioned...

Only one thing I can think of-your running a fake r4 possibly ???

nope, new R4 works on my DS lite but not on the second hand DS lite, so not fake

Both machines are DS lites, just that one is second hand so not sure of age, mine is 12 mths old.
Have loaded a few R4's and not had a problem til now

BTW The second hand one is pink, but don't think thats the reason !! ;D

that's why I thought it was a fake-it should be consistant in usage...

So do other ds cards work on the pink ds?

have tried a couple of games, Zoo Tycoon, didn't work - white screen, will check forums for that, but brain training worked.

Have told them they should take it back and swop it for a different one as only brought it today, but would be interested if it can be sorted

Hi I am new in this forum, so sorry if the question is in the wrong thread,My problem is when i put games onto the ds lite they will work fine, but when i add more games some will work, but other times the card goes blank and all the games disappear.
But they are still on the usb reader card ,I have to format the sd card and load all the games back on .
If anyone can explain this to me I would be very grateful
    Thank you
    Tom

How old is it? So your data erases itself?

Try going to the 2nd hand ds and hold the r4 in and turn the ds on, If that doesn't work, I think that the DS slot 1 - hole thingy is a little old and the card holder is like broken. (Like Mine)

Oh and If holding down the r4 card when booting works and it suddenly says this is a fake R4 card then thats another sign that your slot1 holder thingy is damaged. =

But if u keep trying it'll eventually stay in.

    Hi
The ds is only about two years and was hardly used.
The card reads ok and plays ok ,but if i add a new game sometimes will will not read anything even though all the games are still on the micro sd ,but when i put it back into the ds lite nothing comes up and i have to load all the games again ,
    Thanks in advance

What the memory card/SD card ???

That's what saved my cards in the past-they are just powerless drives aren't they???
