hi everyone! i have a problem... the memory card i'm using has been reformatted and i wasn't able to save the files (it's okay). anyway i tried downloading edge v2.3 and i was able to go to the menu, game folders, etc. but when i tried playing some games they won't load properly. just black or white screen. i don't know why. maybe because of the firmware? should i download something? can someone pls. tell me what should i do step by step? i'm using a kingston memory card. ahh pls. help me! i don't know anything :'(

hi! thank you very much for replying! 1. the card i'm using is kingston micro sd. like this: then i use edge as the adapter 2. i tried 3399 - Happy Cooking (U) and 3821 - Diva Girls - Making the Music (E)(M5) i also tried extracting the other roms but i got an error/diagnostic message. i also tried extracting the roms using 7zip but no luck
The actual flashcard. So EDGE, or the iEDGE? I don't think those ROMs have AP... Unfortunately, YSMenu doesn't support the EDGE, and nor does Wood R4. What ROMs? Quite possibly they're corrupted. You got them from here yes?

Oh right. YSMenu/Wood R4 is a type of firmware (it is similar to the thing you downloaded for your card). AP is Anti-Piracy. It's a type of code that stops ROMs been played. I'll look into the problem.
Sadly the first two games do not have AP. Only: 4813 Rooms - The Main Building (USA) dose . So this rules out not loading issue for all. Edge is a not very good flashcard, with next to non update from the official firmware .
ohh... how will i know that a certain game has no AP? so the next time i DL something i know what will work or not. what should i do now? still use edge?
For most people, they'll notice there's AP if you see anomalies, such as; 1. game looping (not allow you to play further than a certain point) 2. experience point, HP, etc. not increasing as you progress 3. unable to save progress 4. etc. There can be a variety of AP in games. But lucky for you, NDS games is coming to an end of it's era, so almost all dumped rom has it's AP dealt with by those who knows how, through releasing upgrade/updates/secondary firmware. Unfortunately for you, EDGE and iEDGE been stopped from further development, and none of it can use secondary firmware such as WOOD/AKAIO/YSMENU/TTMENU, so best for you to choose to buy new flash cartridge that's still in continuous support by primary and secondary parties, such like SUPERCARD DSTWO or R4i GOLD from R4ids.cn or R4idsn.com. There are other good cart that you could choose to get, better research about it further on which best to get before going shopping.
aww that's sad but can i still use edge to play games now? i mean like for certain games? or it won't play ANY games? thank you very much for the info!
It can still be use on games dumped up to the last official released upgrade provided by EDGE/iEDGE website. Any games dumped/released which contain AP protection after the said upgrade won't work unless you try running roms without AP in it or pre-patched roms or try running a rom patched using DS-SCENE ROM TOOL : http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=59991.0. However if running patched rom don't work, then your only best option is buying a new cart.
Its hard to say what your EDGE card can and cannot play, best just to try each game and decade the ones that don't work , keep ones that do. Each card to its own capability of playable and nonplayable games, and a mass list of games. If you cannot afford a new and better card, Ie R4 , Acekard 2i est. Next best play vr emulation on PC, no$gba through no$zoomer, are if have a good pc DeSmuME , should run most older games well. @ prectorian Glad to see your back
