    Hello!
So, i'm in a bit of a problemo here.
Ya see, my b-day is coming up, getting a DS, and of course, gonna need some o' them free game-alowing card things.
And on top of me not having any idea how to work one, my parents won't buy me a DS if they aren't 100% sure how the card things work, where to get some, etc.
So, i really need help with:
What is needed to be bought.
What online shop to buy said things from. (And how)
    How to make them work.
    And, how to use them.

Thanks, and, if it's any encouragement to help me out, i'll pay-pal some cash (15$~) to the person who helps out.
Also, excuse me for posting this, but i need a VER-R-RY easy to understand guide, and not one filled with technical tips and stuff, as my parents will want to read it, and they're not very much your typical, we-know-all tech people.

So, thanks in advance, now i gotta go, be back a few days later.

You need a flashcart, which is a storage device. They use a form of memory, or MicroSDs commonly, to hold the firmware, games etc. Firmware are the system files you need for the flashcart to work. Think of it, as the "Windows OS" on your computer. A good site which has virtually all firmware, is http://www.linfoxdomain.com/ds/

I would recommend the Cyclo or Acekard 2 for the flashcarts. Some online sites to purchase these are: http://www.dealextreme.com/ http://www.gamebygame.com/ http://www.realhotstuff.com/. For the MicroSDs, go to http://www.amazon.com/ and look for Sandisk or Kingston brand of MicroSDs (whichever size you desire). These are particularly the best brand you can get.

All these sites, should allow you to pay via Paypal.

Once you have the cartridge and MicroSD, all you need to do is download the latest firmware from this site, extract it using Winrar etc. and place all of the system files straight onto your MicroSD. And then download NDS ROMs from here, extract them, have the .nds files anywhere on your MicroSD and play.

If you do not know how to extract, please read this tutorial.

How these newer devices (called Second Generation) work, is that once the DS encryption was properly broken (the DS's protection from using flashcarts or devices such as these), they could just be inserted into the DS, and could automatically boot(start) and read(load) from the Slot 1 (part of the DS), without the need of a booting tool(to get past the encryption). So now, they are considered "plug-n-play".

    So you need:
Flashcart (a cartridge which looks like a regular cartridge)
MicroSD (flash memory card, to hold the games etc.)
Firmware (system files the flashcart needs to run)

I have figured some stuff out, and it brought me to this:
    Flashcart: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11811 $10!
    TEN DOLLARS!
But, i still need help on microSDs. I get results for these USB things, titled microsds (sandisk microsd 4gb, etc.) and these chips (also sandisks AND 4gb etc.). so, huh?
Which ones? Do plain USB storage devices work, or do i need one of those chips? If so, where do i put it, and what's with the USB things?

They use Micro DS cards (sandisk is decent) they are real small and usually come with a reader that the mirco slides into that makes it a full sized SD card that you can place in a card reader. You are going to have to clarify the "USB thing" if your talking about what comes with that Acekard 2 that is a reader for the Mirco SD card so you can use a USB port instead of a card reader.

    Like I said, you'll need a MicroSD.

Go with a Kingston They are the best micro SD

Its a 4gb micro sd and it holds up to 120 games.

I have a DS-TT-ADV flash cart and I recommend them because I have not had to update my firmware nor patch one game ( including GTA Chinatown Wars which is commmon to not run without patching) Since I bought it.

I bought it from the markets for $50 with the Micro SD card.

And by the way firmware is free from the website if you are wondering.

But I am not sure if mine is a fake... but I dont care because it is the best.
