You need game files from an actual PC version of Doom, and DLDI patching is done automatically by the flashcart nowadays.

The specific file you need is the DOOM.WAD file or something similar.
That is the entire game basically.

    [quote author=readme]Game data - WADs

    ----------------

(This section is aimed at people not familiar with Doom and the
    data files it uses.)

dsdoom is a game engine - it provides a program to play Doom levels, but
it doesn't include any levels itself. More importantly, you need all the
sounds, sprites, and other graphics that make up the Doom environment.
So to play dsdoom, you need one of the main Doom date files from id
    Software - either doom.wad, doom2.wad, tnt.wad or plutonia.wad from one
of the commercial Doom games, or the shareware doom1.wad
    . This file
    is called the IWAD.

If you don't own any of the Doom games, get the doom1.wad from shareware
version of doom on The Dos Games Archive. You won't be able to play most
    add-ons.

I assume that both files just have to be in the same folder to work. See for yourself.

if u have dsdoom version 1.1.2,then the doom.wad goes to the root of the card together with the prboom file
if u are using the version 1.1.2a :
    Step1"
Patch the data/dsdoom/dsdoom.nds with your DLDI patcher.

    Step2:
put the "data" folder in your root directory. otherwise it won't work

    Wad installation:
it's easy just put the designated wads in they're proper folders

here is a lot of wads that are compatible with dsdoom
