Hey you Nintendo fans out there! ;D

Is it true that (after that damn shit DSi XL) Nintendo wants to release a new DS? The DS 2?
I heard rumors about that, but I can't really imagine such a thing.
I mean, just the name...DS 2? That sounds assy. ???

Wasn't that an April Fool's joke by GBATemp? Or is it official?

It's not a joke, just old news. It was officially announced by Nintendo who wanted to announce it before the press did after its confirmation of its existence was leaked. It's going to be calld the 3DS and will feature 3D capabilities and possibly force feedback.
Nobody could possibly know at this point, but Nintendo will probably block them and then their manufacturers will probably circumvent the blocking by releasing new firmware. It's been confirmed that it will be backwards compatible with existing DS games; that suggests that it will be able to read DS game cards.

That is an option while waiting for the updates!
And there will come new flashcards too.
And they will not stop giving games out for the normal ds i think

Great. I don't think anyone could develop a 3DS emulator as it uses those "3D technology" or whatever.

Not to rain on yer parade.. But this sounds pretty shite.. No offense or anything but personally I think Nintendo should work on something new for a longer period of time instead of coming up with a lot of new ideas so quickly, it'd prolly just put a lot of stress on them and the final products won't be very nice in the end at all.

I'm sticking with my lite until Nintendo pulls something that's actually kickass out of their.. Buttocks.

The DS has been out for nearly seven years, it's about time they release a successor.

Exactly, this isnt just an upgrade (Like DSi or DSi XL) its a whole new handheld console, so its design will be different (hopefully)
I'm a handheld freak, even though i didn't get a DSi or XL, I will get this, definitely.
