And so I come to my second rant of the day, and the one that truly enraged me more than anything and has potentially spoilt my day (apart from the pouring rain). Here I am, driving along going to my university. It is raining heavily outside so naturally I drive cautiously as drivers in my country are really bad. Everytime I drive I am aware of the situation around me and expect someone to do something unexpected as is so typical and customary over here. Needless to say, I did not have to wait long. Minutes after I arrive on a busy double laned avenue, a vehicle travelling roughly a metre ahead of me unexpectedly proceeds to drift speedily into my lane, increasing the odds of a collision drastically. Now here I am, my music playing loud in my car, wondering why on Earth this loser is driving and falling into my lane when he should be staying in his. Does he want to kill us both? Does he enjoy angering other drivers? Is he this incompetent and stupid? Regardless of the reason, I swiftly slow down and hoot at him to watch where he is driving. He rushes to move back into his line and this truly surprised me. I thought about it. He hears the noise of my car hooting, and immediately retreats into his own lane. Does that mean that subliminally deep down inside he is aware that what he did was wrong? Does this help shed light on the situation of why he drifted into my lane with the intention of driving in it? I realised I would never know the answer to this question but find it extremely interesting why when a driver on the road does something wrong and when they are subjected to a hoot, they immediately realise their mistake. It is a strange phenomenon that begs the question, why did they do it in the first place if they know they are causing potential harm to other vehicles and increasing the chances of an accident? During the rest of my drive, the same situation happened on a second occasion with the exact same result. I cannot fathom what is so difficult about driving properly. I do it all the time, aside from the odd speeding fine, yet I drive carefully and fast enough not to cause problems to anyone. I really am sick of "almost crashing".
No, you don't just change lanes like that. He knew what was going on but he didn't even bother to check his blind spot and with the wet road, anything could have happened. The point isn't that this guy did this, It happens all the time. The point is that people drive carelessly and they know it, yet they dont try to drive properly.
Some people pay for their driver's license where I'm from, and don't know s**t about driving a vehicle. Maybe that's the case in your situation. And there are some people that are into that car insurance scam thing. Don't remember what they call it though.
The only things that piss me off when I'm driving are those assholes that aren't paying attention because they're too busy yapping away on their cellphones and those old ladies who can't tell the difference between the exit and the entrance and end up wrecking into someone almost every fucking time. Oh and police piss me off too, but that might just be because the ones in my area are even bigger scumbags than the people they're putting behind bars, so yeah, FUCK THE POLICE and all that jazz.
Oh this happens a lot here too. Its annoying because it causes more accidents and so many people die because some idiot can't learn how to drive. It's easy, it's not rocket science. I hate that too. Grannies, driving super slowly and taking their damn time and causing more accidents due to the fact that they are moving so slowly. Don't even get me started on cellphones. yeah exactly, Fuck the police (Sepultura)!!! I remember once I got drunk with my mates and we were begging a cop to arrest us, luckily they were cool cops.
Sigh, is this some rotten global trend? Policemen here are scumbags as well, especially the traffic enforcers who have nothing better to do than collect traffic violation bribe money
In my country, the cops drive like some real douche bags, so, yeah I'll say it too: F**k the police! Oh,and for the old folks who like to drive old......... Screw that, they shouldn't even be driving, I mean they could die behind the wheel of their ancient jalopy, and that could be worse for the drunk guy driving behind them.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Maybe the driver was lost in thought and your horn "woke" him up.
On a side note though, there are countries who have driving rules that allow people to change lanes, PROVIDED it is only to be done if another lane is free for over-taking. Like in India , you should watch "The Amazing Race" for this one, there seems to be no stick to your lane rule there. Same is true here, if a lane is open & traffic is a bit faster on the other lane/s change lane/s.
Don't start with the police bashing... It's only a small number of them who give the rest a bad name... Besides, I don't think it would take long for someone to turn into a prick if they had to deal with scumbags and bad drivers all day.. As for the driving... It's chiefly scumbags in their stupid looking cars, van drivers and taxi drivers who cause most of the trouble...
Well in America, grimsim's problem occurs almost every minute. It's very rare for me to see someone driving properly here. When they come over into my lane, I toot their ass, zoom pass them and flick them off, curse a few words and I'm on my way Makes me feel better that they can't drive.
Man, the other day (in the US) I was driving when I pulled right into someone else's lane. The bastard honked his horn and irrationally sped up. As he passed me, he gave me the middle finger and I could see him throwing off harsh verbal comments towards me. He seemed to be satisfied by my driving skills.
Sorry iamlegend, this thread isn't meant to involve police in any way, but it is annoying when nothing is done about crap drivers. I did flick him off but as I said it was raining so I doubt he saw any of it I always make sure that they see it but the rain didn't help this time. This one time I was in the car with my brother driving and he changed lanes, seeing as the car in the next lane was relatively far behind. However, clearly that driver didn't appreciate it for some reason even though he was really far behin but was driving pretty fast. Guess he was in a rush but we quickly got out of his way. He however drive next to us for about two minutes swearing and calling us to pull over. All I was thinking was what the fuck asshole!! Anyways, my brother carried on driving and eventually I got tired of this guy freaking out in the middle of the road so I flicked him off and this further enraged him. He totally flipped out. Even his wife next to him strated waving her arms about in a frenzy. He overtook us and changed into our lane, slowed down in an attempt to get us to stop. My brother said "fuck this" and overtook him and sped off (seeing as we have a much faster car than his). The point here is that sometimes even though you do nothing wrong on the road, other drivers might construe the situation as being a bad bit of driving even though it is not. But in my original post, I am satisfied to say that the guy was in the wrong, seeing as he was only a metre ahead of me and I would have driven right into him.
So true where I live. Fuck, how can you explain 13 year-olds being given "paid-for" driver's licenses? It's total rubbish. If you can't PASS THE FUCKING TEST, I don't want you on my roads. Bus drivers, taxi drivers, and total assholes in general usually drive like shit. What? Can't be bothered to stop at a red light? Making a U-turn where the sign clearly prohibits it? Driving like a fucking maniac? Fuck you, good sir.
Ah, bad drivers. The other day my mom was driving and there was this person going 25 in a 45 zone in front of us. Of course, the guy was on his cell phone not even paying attention to the road. If you can't read a number on a sign because you are paying more attention to your friend than your life then for the love of God quit driving.
There are these two intersection within a mile of my house, and every time I come to them, I see people running the light 3 seconds **AFTER** it turns red, and not once have I ever seen a cop stationed there. The city would do well financially if they would monitor those intersections.
