Could somebody please tell me all the ins and outs and everthing else? I just don't know the first thing about it including which emulator to go get.
I use NullDC 1.6, google told me it was the best. Its not easy like snes emulation theres quite a bit of messing about, I had to rename BIOS and allsorts to get it going. Look on youtube for a tutorial if you struggle.
Okay. 1. You need a pretty strong PC and a decent GFX card, but not as much as something like PCSX2 or Dolphin. 2. If you have a weaker PC (3- gibs of ram and/or weak GFX card), use NullDC 1.03 and the Chankast plugins (fastest, but some games like jet radio and SA2 are broken) get @ http://www.vg-network.com/download/383/ 3. If you have a stronger PC (4+ gibs of ram and/or good gfx card) then get the latest SVN of nullDC 1.04 and use the default plugins (slower, but compat is MUCH better if your PC can handle it) get @ http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E7HQKWCF 4. DC emulation requires a BIOS, so search for Dreamcast BIOS. I found mine @ http://www.angelfire.com/pa/Raluminat/biosfiles/Dreamcast.zip 5. Put the bios in the /bios folder which the emu specifies. 6. Run the emu. 7. Configure your input if you haven't already 8. Load your DC .cdi, .gdi or whatver the file you DLed is. 9. Play! That's about it. If you need DC games ISOs, then google bing is your friend. Google announced that they would start filtering search results based on often-searched "pirate" terms. EDIT, @ MSG, 1.03 is better then 1.6 (1.6 is OLDER, GASP) and if you can handle it SVN 1.04 is currently the best dreamcast emu in existance.
Oh I've got a pretty good computer! ;v) Here's my computer. And the game I'm really wanting to check out is Evolution The World of Sacred Device. Oh, you keep saying gibs, are you trying to say gigs?
I don't often play dreamcast so im not up to date, I found 1.6 to be the easiest to use though and it played every game I tried perfectly.
yeah, I mean gigs. I talk and type weird sometimes. That's a pretty nice model. 3 gibs...GIGS of ram should suit you pretty well for DC. Try 1.03 first and try downloading the dreamcast game ikaruga. (I say test that one because of its PWN compression - from 775 to 17 MB, so less DL time). Unzip it and play it on 1.03. If it runs full speed with the window stretched out to fill the screen without changing the plugin to chankast video, you can probably handle 1.04.
