This is the second time I have upgraded to Premium membership. The first time, it made a noticeable difference in download speed and was worth the cost. Today I decided to upgrade to premium. My user class does show me as premium. But, every download has started out really slow, and eventually failed....
As I understand, few days ago the site was moving server provider to improve download service. The transision might still be in progress. In any case, please wait for Admin to address this issue.
Thanks, Prectorian. After I upgraded to Premium I did look through the Forums and saw the thread from Wednesday that mentioned the new service provider. Even though the speeds were not what I experienced the last time I upgraded to Premium, I have been able to successfully download a few files. I used a download manager (DownThemAll! for Firefox). I downloaded one ROM at a time, and resumed the download when/if it timed out. Occasionally, I was able to achieve some reasonable download speeds (up to 4 MB/s) as long as I only downloaded one file at a time. Every few minutes the speed would drop to 0 b/s. When this occurred, pausing and resuming the download worked. If I did nothing, it would eventually timeout and need to be resumed.
The transfer to the new server started yesterday, we're aware the current ones are not going great at times and we're working to switch over as fast as we can.
