Downloading Issues

Hello. I just wanted to give a little bit of background info before I jumped into the problem. I am currently using FireFox as my browser and I run ZoneAlarm as my firewall. Before yesterday, I never had any issues with downloads at all. Cookies are always enabled on my system. I'm not sure how to check for the HTTP-REFERRER, but I assume I don't have anything blocking that since I was always able to download just fine for months.

So the issue started sometime yesterday. I was halfway downloading a ROM when I got disconnected. I attempted to resume the download using FireFox, but it failed. I downloaded the file once more and again, it was cut off. I tried to resume this time and it still did not work. Now, whenever I try to download a file, my browser seems to go into infinite loading/connecting. It's a similar behavior as when I try to download too many files at the same time...except I have no files downloading at all.

It's been well over 24 hours and the behavior is still there. I don't know if this is something on my end or on the server's end. Any suggestions for me?

    Thanks!

Did you by any chance install the microsoft fix for the global DNS issue that was discovered recently? That is known to cause problems with zonealarm.

I don't think firefox is capable of resuming from our server. As for the rest I have no idea really, the server has been running normal for the last 24 hours.

I heard about that Zone Alarm problem, but that shuts down all traffic coming in and out of the computer. I don't think that's the issue. I'll try some more things on my end and see how it works.

Thanks again for looking into this. It probably is something on my end.

    EDIT:

Ok I got it working. Apparently there is something wrong with my FireFox. I tried Opera and I can download just fine now.

The Firefox builtin downloader has some problems at the moment. Normally it cuts out big downloads at random times.

Try using Netscape or an older version of Firefox.

Netscape? What is this? 1997? He said he fixed it by using Opera, no need to downgrade to insecure crappy browsers.
