hello, i seem to be having a problem downloading, i started a d/l earlier today and its at 99% but now it has stopped, i at first thought the problem is on my end due to the high number of problems people have, i tried restarting but it says it cannot connect to the server, as a test i tried restarting the download from the start but it says it cant find the server. i searched for a topic on this as on another site i was told the server goes down regularly for maintainence or something. So.... is it me? or is the server down for the moment? ps forgive my spelling, there does not seem to be a spellcheck button :S plus i have no idea which section this would go to.... technical help?
It's responding fine here, so I can only suggest you try again. Also I have a spell check button so I'm not sure why you haven't unless you just missed it. The server does not intentionally go down frequently, but lately we have had several problems. I would suggest this thread should be in the site support section, so I've moved it.
i dont like to spam..... but...... woohoo, its not me. yay been on for an hour trying to find the problem :S i have a regular modem connection and came to this site because another with a similiar name doesnt support long term resume. good to see your on the ball seph. edit: its been a few hours now, i can get to the save or run download screen but it says incorrect password or login information. i do not know if your end is up and running yet so i have decided to leave it for a day or so. however a reply when its fixed would let me know if its a problem on my end, as i said with download managers there seem to be a lot of problems so i expect one to surface. thanks for the quick clarification though, it is better then spending hours trying to figure out if its a settings error.
We've been having some issues lately and we don't know entirely why, the host just rebuilt the raid controller, hopefully that was the problem. It's running right now, and you can use a download manager so long as you it sends the cookies associated with the domain.
I am using free download manager with the protocols set to use cookies and http 1.1 if that is what you mean seph. however upon clicking the download now button i get the DNS server not found error, is this an isolated case of the DNS outage problem you had? affecting only the download section i mean. BTW: loonylion, now i see the spellcheck button, i was looking at the top with all the fancy ones ;D, what is teletype?
No it appears we still have a problem with the file server randomly not responding, we might have to change the entire box if this continues...
I tried to Download something, took several seconds for the download to begin, then the speed was quite not there, usually I get 44k per single download, this time it was half that, no big deal for me though.
It seems the problem was on both ends, Free download manager was not connecting properly to resume. I decided to take your advise and get flashget, which is working fine with resume. Shame FDM did not resume because i had 71.0MB of a 71.1MB file. Still it was a zero point cost download so i should not complain. Thanks for the help and i hope your problems are sorted soon.
