Hi, I'm new. I signed up to download a rom. The thing is my internet sucks and when downloads are too big, like the rom, they usually just stop downloading.

I found out that if I use a download manager it works. Free Download Manager to be exact. However, when I tried to download it using the manager, it said it was downloading "fetch.php". This "fecth" file was the same size as the real file, although the real one was a zip. Should I download it and rename it as a zip, or is there some problem with download managers?

    Thanks, kignspwn.

it should automatically save as the correct filename. Also, make sure that your download manager has acceleration turned off (I.e it only opens one connection).

if the size is correct...than it must be some resume problem...
yes...try to rename the extension to zip or rar...and extract it!

In my question I said it was a zip but I was wrong, its a rar. I'll try downloading with download manager and renaming. I think I my download manager has "acceleration turned off"; I changed max sections to 1 instead of 5.

    Thanks for the help.

Yeah some download managers don't pick up on the filename header we send so they give it some stupid name. I know flashget shows the name as fetch.php initially, but once it starts the download it names it properly.
