I tried downloading 4271 - A Witch's Tale on DS twice. Once on european server and once on north american. Both times it crapped out around 60MB out of 82.7MB. I don't use an accelorator, and my net connection did not fail. It still has a download speed but isn't downloading. I left it for 20 minutes to see if it would continue but it didn't. What could be wrong?

You lost the connection to the server.

Use a download manager like FlashGet ( www.flashget.com ) to resume downloads.

So that's my problem. I don't have a download manager. So this problem is not file specific?
Although around two months ago I tried downloading Contra 4 on DS, five times over two days and it stopped at exactly 10.4MB each time. Was that the same problem? I don't get why it would disconnect from server at the same point each time.
I use Google Chrome which has a pause/resume feature on downloads, wouldn't resume.

Has anybody else ever had this problem?

It could just be a periodic loss of your connection, it's not unheard of. If you are using wireless it's possible that it is unstable.

The download managers built into browsers, like Firefox and Google Chrome, are not perfect. You should get a program like FlashGet, which is a dedicated download manager. It will resume correctly if the download stops.

While I may use an unstable wireless connection-shouldn't flash get save my files to contine until job it done?

I lost burnout gc from here-flashgot just...locked-yet all other downloads completed.

I can understand megaupload blocking me-but not not romU :(

I'm not 100% sure. Different downloads go through different routes, so somewhere along the route could have had a hiccup. The problem doesn't have to be on either end directly, it could also be somewhere in the vast amounts of cables, switches, hubs, routers, etc. that lay across the planet to form the internet.

Thank you TirithRR, it's easy to forget how far my download is coming from.
My solution was to get the rom from somewhere else. Not Romulation friendly I know, but I'd wager this site is proud to offer free members download speeds 150% faster than any website I can find. Even a quick response to my question. Thank you.
