I last updated my wii to v4.1 and there is a problem with the parental controls whenever i set the highest game rating to Everyone or Teen etc. it resets back to "any game allowed" is there a way to fix it or do i have to take the hard way and update to the v4.2

I've never tried setting my game ratings, are you sure there isn't a confirm button for changing options that you are missing, and by just exiting you are not saving the changes you made?

    Hrm.

So I'm guessing you have kids around who you wish to limit eh?

You can switch it-just go back into parental controls, enter the password and switch it.

For me it's not an issue-I just hide the really bad games from my brother :)

Oh and if you can still play-your wii ain't bricked.

It shouldn't alter the settings on it's own however.

I'll do a test on mine-it may be 4.00 but it still uses the same menu.

your wii isnt bricked.just enter the password.if you forgot it,put in i forgot for the password, and for thhe security question, get the master code and call nintendo, give the code to them, and they'll give you the master passcode which removes he lock allowing you to change it.
