There isn't a 1.31 for the original R4.

You can install 1.24 from www.r4li.com (Doesn't solve HG/SS though).

 

1.31 and onward are only for the SDHC (which is a fake)

the original r4's last official firmware was 1.18, but now there's ysmenu, etc.

 

Firmware 1.31 dosnt work on my R4. It just says "menu?"

For the R4 SDHC I have just downloaded v1.32 from http://www.r4sdhc.com/. For the original R4 my daughter uses v1.19, cannot remember where I got it and a quick search only pulled up a site in Chinese (i think).
