Rugby League is a popular sport in countries like Australia, England and New Zealand. I just really wanted to know if there was anyone on this forum from countries in Asia, North and South America and Africa that even have any knowledge of the sport. Many people will get this sport confused with Rugby (Rugby Union), but they are indeed 2 different sports all together with different rules. While I'm here.....Go the Bulldogs!! They are a Rugby League club in Australia that compete in the NRL competition.
In South Africa it plays second fiddle to rugby union (RU). Most RU clubs have maybe 1 Rugby League team, but it isn't very Big
I know Rugby Union is a big sport in South Africa. What are they called? The Springbox? There is great rivalry between Australia and South Africa in Rugby Union, and also cricket. I think Rugby League would be huge in South Africa, just because of the great fan support and talent of the Union players there. In Australia, Rugby League is more popular, but there are players from League that switch to Union for better money.
They are called the Springboks . Can't Wait for tomorrow as Were playing Australia in Rugby Union. Unfortunately Union rules in South Africa, So no real money goes to League. If someone want money they go play in Europe.
