Does anyone else find the Ace Attourney series overrated?

Some people say it's underrated but after the first game, it's just total shit.

I mean, in the first game, we had some awesome hair throwing action, but after that, we just have some bitch whipping people all the time and repeating repeated words that are repeatedly repeating all the time. After the first game, everything turns darker and there is no light mood anymore.

They killed off the only hot woman in the game and then introduced dumb sidekicks. Phoenix Wright turned into some mysterious thug and Ace Appollo is a bit of a plain character that has no awesome moments what-so-ever.

Just like Rick rolling and over 9000 is the only reason to be on the internet.

The developers need to know when too much is too much. I'm talking about the re-occurring jokes by the way.

Well I do agree with you, its a sort of boring game after the first, I cant even be bothered to pick up the rest.

I wouldn't consider the gaes overrated. I'm pretty sure all the games have an average score of about 70-something, and they're not super hyped or anything.
As for the games being boring after the first, it all depends on how you like the games. I rather enjoy them, but really just play in short intervals, as it does get boring after extended amounts of play.

I actually find the final cases of Phoenix Wright 2 and 3 awesome. Godot is one of the best characters in the series as well xD as for Apollo, the story's good and all but Apollo is just way too boring...he doesn't have any real 'cool' moments but his silly moments aren't exactly funny either. Miles Edgeworth is just as good as Phoenix Wright though.

If you don't like light-hearted games from the "text adventure" genre (or the "interactive novel" genre, or whatever else you would like to call it); then the PW games aren't for you. I think that they are very well written, have lovely and expressive character animation (Gumshoe<3), brilliant plotlines, excellent humour and are a lot of fun to play.
When I play them, I usually play them alongside other games (as opposed to dedicating them my full attention as I perhaps would with other games; playing nothing but the one game until I'm finished with it before moving on to some other game).

Each to their own, but I think that they are underrated if anything : /

As a game they aren't underrated. The gameplay is fun and amusing but seriously lacking in depth, variety(it gets repetitive fast), linear and sometimes but not too often, logically flawed. However, when it comes to the story and characters, they are extremely well written. And that's what visual novels are best known for. As simply a game, it won't garner rave reviews for its gameplay, but its story and character development is more than enough to make up for it and make it one of the best visual novels out there.

The Main series isn't overrated, but some were better than the others.

First was great, second not as good (too many random stories iirc, some pretty bad ones), third was great (plot got much deeper).

The Apollo and Miles games were the overrated ones if anything, they were never as good as the original series, but still decent games though.

Miles wasn't overrated!!! Maybe it was too easy but it had some interesting new elements. And as for the 2nd game, it moved at a bit of a slow pace but the final case was damn right awesome though xD

Miles was really boring for me at times and its main story wasn't that great.
I can't remember much about the 2nd game, played it ages ago.

That's sounds like you're defining the game's rating on 'awesome' moments and hot women.

    qft.

The characters are really well defined but I'm not sure if I can listen to any more of their pathetic jokes. Gumshoe is turning into Homer Simpson. They've turned him into a blabbering idiot and he's constantly saying stupid things that aren't even funny.
I hate the game due to the poor jokes and how they're ruining the characters. Miles Edgeworth seemed to be less badass in his own game. I don't understand how anyone can be afraid of that horrible bitch named Fransika. Miles Edgeworth would have pwned her in the earlier games, but now, he changed.

It's something called opinion and taste. We're all entitled to one.

I LOVE them. Its dangerous to give me a new PW game, ill go everywhere playing it, only stopping for meals and showers.
Miles and Kay are my new faves after ME Investigations.

But then again, I like mystery, anime and visual novels, so its defintely for me.

I think they took the wrong step in the Miles Edgeworth game. They actually had something unique but then they changed it into every other game. I'm pretty sure that not having to run around was what made it unique.

But even then, they still could have fixed it up a bit. Miles edgeworth looks like something from Gaia.

    It's called a story.
Also. Since when was a story about murders ever light?
