Do saves transfer with firmware?

    I am going to be switching from the standard R4 firmware to ysmenu, will the saves made with the R4 be usable with the new firmware?

    Yes, it should work. The game and save files have nothing to do with firmware.

    Part of the save-file does actually. The R4 and DSTT(YSMenu) use the same save-type, so you should be okay.
