Speaking of windows 7. Currently I have 3 games- GTA IV, STREET FIGHTER IV, Splinter Cell DA. So if I installed Win7,will these games work? You know...I don't want to sit like an idiot when I install Win7 and finds out these games don't work. :-\

It should be, I can still play some old games on windows 7.
I don't see why those games can't be played.

I use Filehippo for most of my stuff-they have a handy list that lets you download the latest version or if you want, theres a list of the 20 odd previous versions. Its handy if the latest update of something doesnt agree with your pc.

why would you care about dx 11 and so forth?

haven't you heard that game companies have abandoned releasing new games for pc. i believe alan wake and another game. the 360 has been on dx9 for quite sometime and no one has complained about it.

Did you get Pro edition? Use WinXP Compatibility.
Anyway, I have DX11 on Vista. I refuse to upgrade to two factors: Upgrading BSoDs and the OS phones home from time to time.

Welcome to a world where people still use their computers for gaming and not all companies have decided the PC is a waste of time.

Goddamn, I hate you so much.

I haven't noticed! 8D Maybe it's because I refuse certain updates; check descriptions, people.

there's no point, all the descriptions are the same: 'A security vulnerability has been identified that could allow a hacker to compromise your system and gain control over it.'

ZDnet and /. sometimes posts up which updates make your OS phone home.
