I loved Diablo 2. It was my first MMORPG and possibly my favorite. There was so many possibilities. It kept me on the computer for hours and hours. I never really made anything that did tons of damage like a hammerdin or a meteor sorceress, I just had fun with the game. What about you fellahs?

I've played it and I still do ocassionally, I've left it installed on my computer for years now. It was really fun, I chose a barbarian (like most do).

is diablo 2 considered an mmorpg?? i don't believe it is as you don't necessarily need to be online to play it, there is an offline mode, but there is an online multiplayer feature.

i beat the orginal diablo 2 with a barbarian. constant deaths because of your close combat tactics and you get swarmed by enemies that has magic damage.

i tried paladin, which is a barbarian except uses magic, and is a lot better compared to a barbarian.
i also tried the sorceress but when you advance, you get enemies that become immune to magic or enemies that have mana draining magic or sealed magic. so the gameplay gets harder.

the expansion pack is good, as you get to play and fight against the last boss, bhaal [bail]. the funny thing is that critics say he's the hardest boss in the game and it's an oxymoron to call a game diablo when the last boss isn't diablo himself and diablo himself isn't that hard to defeat.

if you like diablo, play titans quest. you play a worriar, but you have a choice of skill options that you develop such as battle expert skills, storm skill, fire skills, thievery skills, etc.... what's i like about titans quest is that you can use enhanced magic and regular magic at the same time. you can have storm skill and have a trait that throws magic ice shards while also have swords and such enhanced with storm magic [freeze and slow damage effects to your swords, etc...]. in diablo, you were only limited to one use at a time, but in titans quest, you can have as many enhancements along with regular magic as long as you have the mana to support it.

btw, the best thing about the paladin is their magic that hurts enemies within a certain radius [fire, ice and lighting damage on a 15' radus]. these are great for killing those god damn annoying flayers, who runs at you and stab you and quickly runs off again. for barbarians is hell as you play cat and mouse.

I don't play Diablo II any more but I do play one of it's mods, Zy-El. It's fab. Much harder, 10,000 levels, new areas and lots and lots of crafting goodness.

And Diablo II = MORPG. It's a multiplayer online RPG, but not a massively multiplayer one.

You can go online, but you're not really supposed to play online, it's meant to be a singleplayer.

As of this post, it's the 5th most played MMORPG on XFire. You say you don't play anymore, but if you were to sign on, you'd be surprised how many people still play. Trust me, it's massively played still.

I'm not surprised, Blizzard games never seem to go out of style. World of Warcraft obviously does very well, and the Starcraft servers still stay healthy (especially since the announcement of Starcraft 2).

But I think Sprite meant it's not massively multiplayer because you are limited to a small amount of people that can be in the server/room, whatever it's called.

Yeah, it's the room, they limit it so everyone gets a enjoyable playing experience.

I finished Diablo 2 as well. Waiting for my friend to come over so we can LAN and finish the THrone of Bhaal expansion. I think it was a great game and still is awesome even though its very old. Cannot wait for Diablo 3. It looks amazing!!! :)
