That might be problematic, in terms of getting a well sized memory card. Exactly. Just cause it has the DS name, people automatically assume it's another re-hash. ~3D Graphics without the need for glasses (This should be reason enough to buy it) ~GameCube Graphics ~Most definitely a more powerful CPU (probably matching GC) ~Will be backwards compatible with ALL DS games (Which leads me to believe that our flashcarts will probably work with the system (unless Nintendo does something epic) ~Did I mention it's the next generation? People are being ridiculous. This is a major release. AND it's been proven before. GBA --------> NDS Phat GBA SP ----> NDS Lite GBA Micro -> DSi/DSi XL (The point of XL is to use it for easy viewing. There's really no significant upgrade here) 3DS is like GBA coming out after Gameboy Colour. It's not a rehash of GBC, it's a next gen console. Got it?

A game system has a finished life (it could also be 5 or even 10 years, but it's finished) after that is replaced to create new products.. And sells. So it was pretty clear even before the 3DS announcement that something was in the making
