Hey everyone, im having a bit of an issue concerning the deciphering of my exact Chipset model.

When looking for aforementioned piece of hardware I am greeted by this:
    "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers:
    Ata Channel 0
    Ata Channel 0
    Ata Channel 1
    Ata Channel 1
Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller
Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller"

How would I go about determining my chipset with said items under the Device Manager?

from that you can't. Try looking under 'system devices'. Alternatively Dr. Hardware 2009 (http://www.dr-hardware.com/) will tell you.

Hey Loony, many thanks for the reply, however, upon starting up Hardware Doctor I am confused as to which tab to navigate to as to find my controller card.

click the hardware button on the left then try either the motherboard, chipset or pci bus tabs.

Hey Loony, I believe my SATA to be integrated for their is no physical SATA card within my tower.

How would I go about managing the drivers for this integrated SATA card?

it will be part of the motherboard chipset and listed on the pci bus tab in dr hardware. Alternatively it may be listed under 'scsi and raid controllers' in device manager.
