delete account

    Hi.
    I'd like to delete my account, for personal reasons.
    I searched this, but could only find 'go to profile page, then on the lefthand side there's a delete account option.'
    I don't have that option. :(
    Please, could someone tell me how to delete the account?

    I'd like to get rid of both, if possible.
    Followed that link, but on the toolbars left it goes:

    -Profile Info-
    Summary
    Show Stats
    Show Posts

    -Modify Profile-
    Account Related Settings
    Forum Profile Information
    Look and Layout Preferences
    Notifications and Email
    Personal Message Options
    Edit Buddies

    And that's all. :( So I can't work out where this delete thing is. I'd really like to close my account on the whole website, not just the forum? Is it possible, could a Moderator do it for me?

    Don't know why you might not have it, but I have the "delete account" button. It should be right below all of those buttons you just listed.

    Seeing as how the forum and website are merged somewhat, it should delete your account off the website as well as the forum, but I could be wrong :p

    Regular members can't delete their account any more. It has to be done by an admin, so give me a good reason why you would want your account deleted and I will consider it. If it's just paranoia about the download log then that's not a good enough reason.

    No, it's not just paranioa about the download log. :)
    I created the account to download a game, because it said I needed to register.

    But I'll most likely never use it again, so it's just taking up space on your server and adding a basically empty account. I thought I'd see if it's possible to easily close it, since it's annoyingly connected to my email and I won't really be using it again anyway.

    Go to your profile -> Notifications and Email and untick you don't want to receive announcements.

    May I ask why you're so certain you will never have to use your account again?

    I very rarely download games. I don't play many on my computer. I was only looking for one specific game.

    It's just that it'd be cluttering your website space and I more than likely won't be back what-so-ever, and even if I ever did come back it'd be years later and I probably wouldn't recognise the site, let alone remember my login info.

    You hardly take up much space, and between you and the 130.000 something others it doesn't really matter much, I'd rather not have holes with "gone" data. But thanks for the thought. :)

    Please... delete my account also. I am just checking this site out, I have no interest whatsoever.
    I saw it from youtube that I can download games here. I'm just checking it out and now I can't even delete my account?!
    I know that I will never use my account, so please delete it.

    you could have checked it out without an account. The same as above applies to you, disable email notifications, we don't want to manually delete accounts in the interests of data consistency and integrity. I dare say your account will eventually disappear during automatic maintenance.

    Hi, could you delete my account please?
    And as to why i want to delete it, it's just because your site dont fulfill my needs.
    And don't try to argue that "my account wont take space" or "i might want to use it one day". Juste delete it !

    Sorry, no go, there's a reason we don't allow account deletion, it would mess up our site stats and logs with entries showing up as "deleted". I've changed your options to not receive emails so you won't even notice you have an account with us.

    But you really ought to tell us why we don't fill your needs, we're probably the site that listen to feedback the most and try to improve our site the most, I don't think you'll find any other site that listen to users quite as much as we do.

    our rules don't allow multiple accounts. I will ban that account and you may continue to use your other one.

    hmm one said i want out and then other joined, but i love this site its one of 4 rom sites that i trust, and i found out about this site from youtube too, maby you should do advertising there.

    Same reason as previous, no. I've set your account to not receive email notification so it will be as if we don't exist.
