I'd bought this awhile back to do a bit of homebrew mucking about, which its done quite well since chism made a dldi driver for the thing(bless you for the fine work). Don't think its likely, but since i'm the sort of sod that likes to try before buying(and because, lets face it, there's always that one game that you'd play if you didn't have to buy it, or tell anyone you actually owned), is there a way to get retail rom files to work on the thing?

Guess till there's a firmware update released that'll fix whatever's broke(and I'm assuming since there's no naitive support for file system interaction other than rom patching(which apparently can't be done to commercial dumps) is fixed I'm out of luck till I get an R4/m3 or the like.

I don't think the datel card can play commercial roms.

Nope, the datel card wasn't, as far as I know, made to play commercial games. It'd need a firmware upgrade to be able to play commercial games.

I take it any hope of a firmware update is kinda nill then just save up for an M3/whatever ja?

It's probably rather slim yeah. Personally I bought a CycloDS cart.

On a wholey unrelated note, for some reason the bootme.nds trick isn't working to get waht I want to pop up instead of the GnM default browser, ideas on what the problem is there?

If it's wholly unrelated, then you should put your new question in a new post so people will spot it faster.
