Could somebody please tell me if it's at all possible to completely turn off Data Execution Prevention? It's really starting to bug me.

yes it is, but its slightly dangerous.

Basically you need to find boot.ini (hidden and system file in the root of your system drive), and turn off the readonly mark, then open it in notepad. Somewhere in the boot line will be 'noexecute=OptIn' or 'noexecute=optout'. You need to change that setting to 'noexecute=AlwaysOff' and then save the file, before restoring its readonly setting. This edit is dangerous because if you mess up the line your OS will not boot.

Why would it be needed to turn of anyways then if it could mess up everything?

Because it keeps popping up when all I'm trying to do is surf the net and it's driving me bonkers, that's why!

then you have some other problem that needs addressing, such as a malware infestation. DEP will virtually never show under normal circumstances,
