Are cutscenes really annoying in games or are they just part of the game?
    What do you think?

I think cutscenes are great in a game.
But what sucks is that if you can't skip scenes and you want to replay the game.

If it's a demo with unskippable cutscenes it's annoying. It it's a demo i don't give a flip about the story or anything related, i just to play the dang demo

Well they're one way to present the story.
And it's better if it can be skipped if we already saw it.

I can go crazy from keep staring a long cutscene before a boss fight whom I lost to and need to retry again.

Cutscenes help to tell you what's going on in the game's plot. But they tend to get annoying when you can't skip them & are forced to view them over & over when you keep getting killed on a game sequence just right after it.

Neither. It's how they are used that defines whether they are annoying or helpful.

A game with an excellent story = cut scenes are great. Game with a bad story = cut scenes are annoying.

cutscenes are great in moderation, just to get an important story part across but not for every damn thing.
final fantasy xiii was play the game for 5 minutes, watch cutscenes for 5 minutes, play for 3 minutes watch for 4 minutes
i got so bored ive not touched it for months.

bring back the snes, gaming was much more fun

    Yeah.
You don't want heaps of cut scenes.
    It can get really annoying.

As long as they're skippable, I love them all

They're great if you enjoy the game, so if they have a skip feature even better.

I couldn't bring myself to get any further in the game. I got 11 hour in and said "FUCK IT". The characters are all stupid and cliche, the story is stupid and full of lame melodramatics, and... BAH! XD
But yeah, I find cutscenes are important in any game.

Okay, watch the Noob Effect on YouTube

To make your time worth it, you can either watch the whole video or make your way to the 40 second point.

Not necessarily. If you're in the middle of a boss battle and then all of a sudden slammed with a cut scene... I don't care how good the story is, but that just really ruined the flow.

Even if the cutscene features someone stabbing a big pig square in the forehead?

Half Life series and God of War 3 are prime examples that we don't need cutscenes to deviate gamers from gameplay. One thing that helps a lot is that both games are linear.

I think that cutscenes that involve a deep story line they are definitely worth watching. I hate when the characters aren't talking and it's just dialogue you have to read. What i really think is weird is that the character you play in the game doesn't even say anything in the cutscenes. What???
