Hello Everyone, sorry if I put this in the wrong spot.

I just ordered my HP laptop, and I was wondering if it would be able to run Crysis Maximum Edition. Please dont say goto http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri because I want to know before I get the Laptop, that way I can order Crysis (off Newegg.com) so I get both the Laptop and Crysis on the same day.

    My New Laptop's Stats:
HP Pavilion dv6z Select Edition customizable Notebook PC
    • Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    • AMD Phenom(TM) II Quad-Core Mobile Processor N930 (2.0GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)
    • 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    • 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    • 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650 switchable graphics
    • 15.6" diagonal High Definition LED HP Brightview Display (1366x768)

Now, because there is a small chance anyone has those specific stats, but I was wondering if anyone else has experience with Crysis on their laptop, and if anyone knows if such stats above could run Crysis.

Thanks for any help given, and if all else fails I will just buy the game and hope for the best.

games on a laptop in most cases is a bad idea, especially a game as demanding as crysis.

    Minimum system requirements
    from Crytek and EA:
OS - Windows XP or Windows Vista
Processor - 2.8 GHz or faster (XP) or 3.2 GHz or faster* (Vista)
Memory - 1.0 GB RAM (XP) or 1.5 GB RAM (Vista)
    Video Card -256 MB**
    Hard Drive - 12GB
Sound Card - DirectX 9.0c compatible

    and

    Recommended System Requirements
    from Crytek and EA:
OS - Windows XP / Vista
    Processor - Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
    Memory - 2.0 GB RAM
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar

I am a nerd, but not savy enough to know if what I have tops that...

well....for the GPU, i have a similar card, and it's not supported (NVIDIA mobile graphics card) so i have to say, that even though you have a radeon, since it is a mobile version, like loony said, might not work. because games that requires a high GPU (8800 GTS) usually aren't supported by laptop graphics cards....

Hmmm... well anyone else have suggestions? Thanks for the warnings though Catz, but I want to stay a little optimistic. Seeing that my friend can run BadCompany 2 on a cheaper system...

the processor is pretty slow as well, im running a 3.1Ghz that only cost £60 (desktop processor admittedly), but your processor is only 300mhz faster than the one in the laptop I got in 2005. And its below the specified requirements.

Thats weird, it may be because it is Quad Core meaning its running 4x of the speed.

only in programs that explicitly support multicore. virtually no games do. for programs that only support a single processor the other three cores may as well not be there.

Thats nice. But what I am wondering is if I can at least run it on custom settings, seeing that Warhead has been formated to work better on slower PCs.

    I found this: (http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-5650-Graphics-Card-Review.24035.0.html)

    Crysis - GPU Benchmark
    Resolution Settings Value
    1024x768 High 28.9 fps
    1024x768 Medium, 0xAA, 0xAF 57.1 fps
    1024x768 Low, 0xAA, 0xAF 92.9 fps

it might run, its hard to say. multicore or not, your processor is slower than the stated requirements, added on to that the fact that laptops use cut down processors to reduce the amount of heat produced, and the fact that the vast majority of laptops have a poor thermal design that makes them overheat easily under heavy load (some are worse than others).

Sigh... Even though I do not want to I might just have to test the Laptop once I get it. Thanks for all the help everyone!
