Crono Cross won't go to disc 2

I've just reached the point in Chrono Cross where I am supposed to switch discs. I use the switch disc thing on Espxe 1.7 but all I get is a black screen, and I don't know what to do to fix it. Can anyone lend a hand?

 

You can try to save the game when prompted prior to the disc change. Then just start up disc 2 fresh and load the saved game.

 

there is no save prompt before switching discs.

 

Try it with ePSXe 1.5.2

1.5.2 tends to have better compatibility with Square(soft) Enix games.

 

Ok that worked somewhat. The emulator is playing the game at a super high speed but I am now on disc 2. thanks

 

Probably a Graphics Plugin issue. Check the FPS Limit option.

You can switch back to 1.7.0 though, once you have a save game on the second disc.
