How do I copy Wii discs I bought,in case the originals get damaged. The console isn't getting modified unless I "will need" to do it for this..

    Unfortuatly you will.

I know that unless you have certain lg drives a pc can't read gc/wii disc.

You will also need a wireless router.

I'll try to locate the name of the software-but where from is another question.

It's because they state in the manuals "you don't need to backup games to protect your software".

There are disc cleaners/repair kits, and if within warrenty, some places can exchange.

Unless it get's wrecked within 4 years, it normally covers everything.

Ive tried them disc repair fine sanding things before, but theres a big difference in price between a blank dvd and Spongebob Truth or Square Wii game, about $50

disc repair kits do not always help, and software generally does not have a warranty. Nintendo is most likely violating consumer protection rights with that statement.

They aren't really violating anything, they are just telling them they don't have to backup their games to protect their software.
Some retailers will provide warranties, and will sell you extended replacement warranties. I just recently bought Dragon Age Origins for the PS3, and they asked me if I wanted to buy a 1 year replacement warranty (something like 5 dollars).

But not buying anything from Nintendo just because their system doesn't play backups is a stupid reason. Pretty much every console out there has protection features that don't allow backups and copies to be played without modding. It's a common feature, and not anything to be surprised by.

Unless nintendo will freely replace damaged or broken discs, it is a violation.

All they said is "you don't have to make backups". They aren't forcing you not to make backups. So they aren't violating anything.
Suggesting that someone not do something is not the same as forcing them not to do it.

And manufacturers always suggest you use the warranty at the retailer first, before coming to the manufacturer directly.

Tirith,Im not stupid,Ive never heard of paying for warranty on a dvd game,if I had dont you think I would have bought it-£30 offset against £2 ..... per disc.
I have done what they wanted me to do and bought their wares, its not my fault their items are easily damaged-especially when a disabled boy is using them.

But I was stupid buying an Acer Netbook, thats it on the asbestos tea-tray LOL
