what would be your version of the ultimate gaming PC... I am thinking about building my own gaming tower and I would like to see what you guys would use to build the best PC in your opinion...
...Ok, I might be using this thread to find the best parts, but who cares :p I just want to see in everybody's opinion what parts they would use to build it... and maybe the price tag...

...Ok, definitely the price tag. ;D

My version? Why should I make my own when I can hire someone to make one for me! If your loaded, $2000-$10,000 is enough. If you get the best of the best out there, your probably going to get a huge server! hahahahaahah, no I'm just kiding with you! Everywhere, there is gaming PCs. My best fantasy of a gaming PC?
    The Specs:
16GB DDR3 RAM (Kingston, Corsair or some other brands, their best RAM sticks like HyperX and it's triple Channel)
    Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition i7-965 / 3.2 GHz - LGA1366 Socket FC-LGA8 - L3 8 MB - Box BX80601965
Intel Motherboard (that has 4 or more DDR3 RAM slots with Hyper Threading, triple Channel, Crossfire X, SLI, RAID=$500)
Cooler Master ATX Full Tower Case=$150
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295=$700 (one is enough, right?)
10x 2TB Hard Drives (Western Digital) =20TB Perfect for installing many, many games!
And a bunch of other wires, etc.
$8000! That would be my gaming PC!
P.S. I quickly ran down my head on thinking of my gaming PC in like 5 minutes!
I might be wrong with the price, etc.

it could be done for much less than $8000. Also, the geforce 295 isnt worth the extra cost over the 285.

very few (if any) motherboards have 10+ sata channels, so you'd need a PCI-E sata controller card, if your case can even hold that many drives. 10x 2TB drives would mean about 17TB disk space, not 20TB. Youd also need more than one power supply to run that many hard disks (normal power supplies dont provide enough amps on the 5V rail).

More ram does not help gaming. 4-8GB is perfectly sufficient.
