My cousin let me borrow his wii while he goes on holiday and i know its been modded somehow internally maybe cause he had a fifa 08 back up disc and it runs perfectly. I really want to play Taiko for wii but it cannot read the disc when i select it in the wii channel and for another game, mario and sonic at winter olympics, the title screen loads up but then when i click start it says 001 error, so i thought, oh ok, i'll just update the wii from internet so i did and now i think its 4.3e firmware but now im thinking it was a bad idea to update this :( is there anyway i can play these games? by the way, taiko wii is a jap iso and mario and sonic was pal iso (and im in the pal region as well). I am nowhere near comfortable with how wii's work so any help is much appreciated!

Are you sure that is says 4.3E?!?! O-o''

Checking your Wii System Menu number.
    -Turn on your Wii.
-Go to the Wii icon in the lower-left-hand corner of your screen.
    -Go to System Settings.
-Your Wii System Menu Number is on the upper-right-hand corner of your screen.
--For example, my Wii System Menu number is 4.2U.

    Oh, thank God! O-O
You had me freaking worried there!!!

Ok, just do whatever it says on this page here - http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=35411

Any questions, just let me know.

I'd suggest doing the DarkCorp method.

ok, i looked at the page, but do i follow both the "If your Wii is 4.2, then use this guide to mod your Wii." and also the "DarkCorp v1.0." methods? or just do the darkcorp setup since the wii is already modded? I just dont understand that if the wii can play the burnt fifa 08 dvd then should i have to follow the first guide?

    Oh.

Well, if it can play backups fine, then, don't bother doing anything.
Just pop the game in and play.

well it doesnt play all backups fine. it will play the fifa 08 backup, but i have burnt my own mario and sonic onto dvd-r and it gets to the title screen and then it displays the 001 error. so thats why it has gotten me a little confused

I would follow the 4.2 soft-mod guide and then install DarkCorp.

ok, so i followed the 4.2 soft-mod guide and then installed DarkCorp but im still at square 1. (but now i have homebrew channel yay!) so then what i did try was using the IOS patcher on my mario and sonic at winter olympics iso and i put in the number 249 as directed. When i started it up, it instead gave me a 002 error instead of the 001 error when i didnt put the patch in. so now im lost again. im sure i followed the instructions very accurately so im not sure what the hell is wrong?

Are you SURE that you installed DarkCorp?
Did you get the full pack?
If so, then you can use the first option to install DarkCorp when you boot it up.

try installing darkcorp like ace101 is saying, mayve it didnt install right, if you didnt have the homebrew channel, that probably means your wii was not modded before, so when darkcorp asks you how to install it, press the first choice, its for unmodded wiis, and then check the game region, im not sure if this is the problem, but try installing priiloader and putting disk region free enabled
(make sure you have bootmii as boot 2 in case of a brick for both darkcorp and priiloader)

    But be careful!
NEVER update via Nintendo after this.

No one knows what kind of bricking shit they'll add after the 4.2 incident.

Just don't update it at all because chances are, your Wii will get screwed later on.

umm ok, well i followed your guys instructions and still im back at square 1. should i be loading the games from the disc channel or from the neogamma homebrew application inside the homebrew channel. I dont know what you are talking about priiloader. I mean, i can choose to run it from the homebrew channel but when i install it, there is no option for disk region free enabling. (and yes, I even installed darkcorp again with choosing the first option so I am doing it right :p)

p.s. i also have in my homebrew channel from before when i was doing the 4.2 mod these apps that i didnt open because the instructions didnt tell me to open them from the homebew channel so i have them anyway. They are "(!) cIOS 222 Installer v4 -> cIOS for uLoader" , " cIOS3Br14 Installer -> Installs cIOS3B rev 14" , Dop - IOS MOD -> Mod of DOP IOS". So do i install any of these? Im afraid just that if i do, that i might do something wrong :s
