Clock-based events don't work in Pokemon Emerald

Does anyone know how to make the clock based events work in Pokemon Emerald? At the start of the game it says something like the "internal battery has run dry, clock based events will not occur" Can it be fixed??

 

What are you playing it on? If you're using VBA, go Options, Emulator, then enable Real Time Clock.

But if you "retain" the real time clock on settings for good it will affect other games that don't use it, I suggest getting the vba-over.ini file, which is a file you place on your vba's base directory, it serves as a "cue" that instructs vba to override its initial settings so it can run a specific ROM with no problems.

While on the topic, I suggest getting "the good" GBA BIOS file, I have a topic in this section titled "vba-over.ini,gba.rom(GBA BIOS) & NES gg.rom (game genie BIOS), Where to get them"

Unlike the metal games (Pokemon Silver/gold/crystal) there isn't really any big clock event in Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire except for the growing of berries that takes several hours, as well as the rise & fall of the tides, which is only important for getting some heartscales
