I've got Lumines for the PSP, but every time I try to load it I hear the click of death for five minutes then the PSP stops trying to load it. It never loads at all. All other games work. Does it make a difference that the entire UMD case/shell is clear plastic instead of white? How do I fix this, anyway?
My lumines game doesn't look like that... Only thing I can suggest is that you can try copying the game if you have a hacked psp, and then try loading the ISO/CSO... If your psp is not hacked try this: http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=52896.0 It is very useful trust me, read what it can do :I where did you buy it, it sounds counterfeit, never seen any clear plastic ones... Or it may be scratched, look at the bottom, and try cleaning it.
Not hacking it. I also found clear plastic UMD cases being sold on various sites. Also, I don't see any scratches that would cause the problem.
Ok, but just saying it will be very helpful. I'm willing to help out 1 on 1 if you change your mind :I Where exactly did you buy it, that may be the problem... I forgot to add that, there is no other way to fix it except by: -returning it to vendor -hacking (to check if it's defective) -crack case open, and clean thoroughly
The game's UMD case is not white means they swapped it, ethier they cracked the original UMD case or wanted a cosmetic change. It shouldn't mean something is wrong with the game. And try another game, sounds more like the UMD read is fucked...this is one of many reasons why people start hacking their psp's. Because when it can no longer read UMD's...how else do you play? Keep the game though regardless, maybe I can teach you how to back it up :3
Well, it's just the one game, like how when I first got Mirror's Edge it had the click of death and wouldn't load... I had to exchange that for a new copy, though.
yeah, it is. I got it for 360. It had the click of death too, so it has something to do with CD-based games.
The click, when it comes to disc based media, is generally the drive trying really hard to read the game (the clicking) but being unable. Chances are the UMD is fucked for one reason or another and you'll have to get a different copy of the UMD. If you bought it from Gamestop, I'm not surprised it is messed up. A long time ago, before the PS2, when my PS1 was still popular as could be, I went and got about 3 used PS games from Gamestop. All three were so scratched they wouldn't play, or would freeze after tons of skipping in the intro. It took about six trips to finally get all working games.
Ah, NOW I know this click of death, it makes my teeth grind when I hear it... If you hear the click, take it back ASAP
