    No, he's playing the GBA release

    Solution:

    Ok, first you need VBA 1.8.0, you can get this from here:
    http://vba.ngemu.com/

    Next you need to do the special game fix found at:
    https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=6326.0

    Once that is done, you need to open your vba-over.ini file with a text editor like Notepad.

    Copy and Paste the following into the file, then save it.

    Code:
    Classic NES Series - Bomberman
    [FBME]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Castlevania
    [FADE]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Donkey Kong
    [FDKE]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Dr. Mario
    [FDME]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Excitebike
    [FEBE]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Ice Climber
    [FICE]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - The Legend of Zelda
    [FZLE]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Metroid
    [FMRE]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Pacman
    [FP7E]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Super Mario Bros.
    [FSME]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Xevious
    [FXVE]
    saveType=1

    Classic NES Series - Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
    [FLBE]
    saveType=1
    This will allow you to correctly play the Classic NES Series games on VBA.

    Incase you can't figure out the file modification, here is a pre-modified vba-over.ini file:

    This would work for Zelda too? And do I make an entirely new .ini or just add this code to the one I've already got?
