When is this game going to come out? I beat chrono trigger a long long time ago, and just replayed cross this past september. the stories were pretty good, except the loose ends just kept piling up. and what is with that weird real-life looking video when the credits are rolling after you beat cross? does it hint at something?!

The trademark made for "Chrono Break" expired in the US market in Dec 2001 and the US trademark for "Chrono Brake" expired in November 2003, but its still in effect in Japan until 2012 other than that there really hasn't been any announcements of any releases by SquareEnix but it doesn't mean it still won't happen.

That's Kid in modern-day Japan, she went to OUR dimension by the use of the amulet, finding the player (You) who controlled Serge throughout the game. So she is looking for Serge in the sense that YOU ARE Serge.

There was even a site Square put up at the time it was still being worked on, until they shelved it altogether.

Believe it or not, Break was an official title at one time. A fan-made "Chrono resurrection" was being made(it was the 2-D Chrono Trigger cut scenes, made into 3-D) but the author got slapped with a cease and desist order. Now I don't see Square-Enix moving to make a true sequel at all..

I don't think we will see it.Square Enix prefers milking the Final Fantasy franchise like people think it's the greatest Rpg series of them all.Unfortunately sales showed otherwise.Chrono Cross for your info is the only Rpg to get 10/10 on Gamespot.(probably the most critical gaming site).

there are all sorts of rumors regarding this game, but i think it wil never get green light as this point. blame square-enix for it.

even if they do make it, it would be on the PSP or DS (probably PSP). Most of Square Enix' money is being pumped into making the FF series a series that everyone buys. Just by the way... I doubt Square Enix will make a remake of FF7. I'm not exactly opposed to it, as long as it more than just visual upgrades, and even then if they did it for 7 they'd have to do it for 8 and 9 as well.

I wish Square made a game using all the characters of every game. Like Dissidia
except with star ocean, kingdom hearts, chrono cross etc.

ratings were good though. Okami had terrible sales but was highly acclaimed so they remade it for wii. I wonder if they will remake dissidia for ps2. hmmmm.

I doubt it. The problem with Okami was poor advertising, underproduction. The problem with Dissidia is, its not very good.

now don't hijack the thread =D

I personally don't think so. If SE ever got the Chrono team back together (and I don't think they plan to), it'd be something too big to waste on either the DS or the PSP (not to mention some analysts believe both are close to the end of their respectives lifespans, the DS's coming first). Heh, I can already imagine the nerd rage if it ever got the B treatment games like Parasite Eve are getting. But then again, this is just my view on things, I got nothing to back me up or something.
As for the FFVII remake, I think Square's never going to do it because, seriously, it would never be able to meet people's expectations, and it would end up backfiring.
