Does anyone know where I can find cheats for pokemon heart gold and soul silver (U)?? I've been searching online for a while but can only find japanese ones

That is possible but if you want to use this or other forums again in the future you should know the rules around here and there or you won't be able to use it again in the future.
No it won't you'll need to put the cheat database file in the system folder of the R4 after that turn on your DS and before starting your game select the cheats you want to use.
R4 can set his cheats on and off in his system settings so I think you need to set cheats on. otherwise the cheats should work.
Check the game ID and see if the one from the cheatdatabase is the same as the ROM if they don't match the cheats will not work
