changing skins on my r4isdhc

hi does anyone know how to change the skin on my r4isdhc im using it on a dslite at the mo i have got a leafy skin and it sucks i looked on the r4i web site and theres loads of cool ones to download but i dont know how to put them on.thanks everyone

 

Once you download a skin there should be 4 pics.... Just copy and past them into the "_system_" folder and say yes when it ask you if you want to replace the files.... You can find alot of themes here....

just copie the files of the RAR file to your theme map and replace the files and
you've got other backgrounds

 

excellent i have done it now ,there is loads of cool ones so much better than the standard default skins ,do you know if ou can use your own jpg's?thankyou very much for both of your help.

 

Yes you can make your own skins by rename your
jpg's to the names of the theme

example

background1.bmp
background2.bmp
icons.bmp
logo.bmp

Just name your jpg's to bmp. and watch with the icons.bmp it is tricky to create
I use mostly icons from other thems and create new ones with it

And make sure there is always a theme.ini otherwise the theme will freeze
your DS and you'll need to restart

 

what part is the theme on the ds screen?,funnily enough i just started a thread on changing a jpg into a bmp file as i just worked out how to do it then read this post of yours afterwards.also when you start the r4 up on the first screen there is an icon that says r4i at the top(pictochat ) to the right and ds download below.what is that r4i icon called in the skins folder?

 

The icons are named in your system/theme folder as

icons.bmp

The version text that you see in your top screen is a part of background1.bmp
