Hi im using epsxe 1.52 and 1.7, and im currently playing Arc The Lad 3. and I just finished Disk 1 woot woot!

problem: How exactly do you change disk? I tried doing this "esc >change disk> ISO>click disk 2"
results: nothing happened. Im stucked with the frame "Please Insert Disk 2".

    PLease help

if anyone would be kind enough, can you spare me a save file starting at the second disk? it will be greatly appreciated...thanks.

Should be able to continue, by inserting the second disk when the screen pops up.

No, should work, if they are indeed the same region ISOs.

they should be the same. I downloaded both from romulation.

Heres the things that i tried.

    Conventional method:
After finishing disk 1, and the screen saying "please insert disk 2" appears, i inserted the 2nd disk.
Result: nothing happens, its like its not even responding.

    Experiment Method:
After saving the game near the end of the first disk, I insert the 2nd disk.
Result: A clip appears that is supposed to show after you finish the game.[the ending vid]

    Notes:
in the screen where you choose wether to play, load, or config. Only that portion shows, the rest are covered in black. this applies to both disk 1 and 2.

The text etc. not showing is the fault of your emulating Video plugin settings.

    Heres my plug-ins:

    Video: Pete's D3D driver 1.77
Audio: P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9
    cd:-rom: ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2.

What do you recommend i should change?

Hmm, maybe the CDROM plugin needs changing, although not many people have problems with it. Look on the ePSXe forums (link is on the official site) for a alternative CD plugin.

ok, i tried two cd-rom plug in: cdrmooby and cdrsapu from ngemu.com, it yielded the same result.

I took a picture of the command log?, of my copy of epsxe 1.52 hoping it would help solve the problem.

please notice that the 2nd disk stops at "NTSC cdrom detected".

    off-topic:

    1. Thanks for the heads-up on the video plug-in, the screen is now uncovered.
    2. How do you make a save state of disk A, become a save state of disk B?

Jeeze, I think I just read something about this the other day in epsxe faq, and I'm pretty sure it said this was an isolated problem for arc the lad and one o ther game, and it said how to get around it.
You could try looking around in there, because I'm postitive I've read something about this earlier..
I hope that helps, I get frustrated to no end when things don't work the way they're supposed to.
    (I've gone through 3 or 4 mouse-s that way)

When you save a state file, and then resave on Disc 2, it should be compatible with that disc only, as it just overwrites the save file, depending on the game/image loaded. Try using a newer version of ePSXe, like 1.6 or 1.7.

ugh...cant find this epsxe faq? where is this exactly?

    random thought:

is it possible that disk 1 and disk 2 are different versions?
ea. disk 1 NTSC , disk 2 PAL or vice-versa.?

    Yes, that is very possible.

no, i dont think so. heres what i did.

    press esc> change disk > iso> image

its correct to choose ISO right? since its the format of PSX games in romulation.

    an off-topic:

never mind this, the download link is not working, either removed by the user or hosting website.

You can choose whatever is supported, and it still should work perfectly. Probably expired that one.
