So I flashed both of my friends' PSP Phats the other day.

It was all going well until I tried installing 5.50 GEN-D3 Final Build onto one of the PSPs.
The installation just STOPPED and I have no idea why.
I have tried running the installation with both PSPs and have bricked them a few times. ::)

I managed to get GEN-D2 running on one of the PSPs and GEN-B2 on the other one.
When I tried to guide my other friend through it, the PSP just froze after he started the GEN-D installation. And no other installation will even run...

So basically, I can't install GEN-D3 Final Build on either PSP and I definitely can't install GEN-D on the other friends (running GEN-B2).

Any suggestions will be MOST appreciated.

All i can suggest is running the D-3 update as the eboot file, and not via pandora method...

Um..if that is what you ended up doing, then try changing some of the files of the pandora so the pandora flashes that straight onto there...not sure what I done but i go straight to GEN D-2 now.

Instead of guiding your friend, prehaps if phyisically possibly, do it for him...you be surprised what some people do wrong during installs.

(I can't help to much with the D-3 issues, I had problems with my sega rally save, and I could have sworn that I had the final build...so I'm on D-2)

I did try the GEN-D update myself before I left his house. And it just didn't run at ALL.
Even now it's doing the same... :p

But I still don't understand why the D-3 won't work.

Maybe I should try the unofficial release that they put out before the final build?

(and are the avatars out of whack for you on here?)

What were they on before-like 5.00m33

Did you do each gen upgrade,as one of them mucked up my PSP

I would redownload the gen files in case somethings wrong with them.

I downloaded them 3 times each.

Each time from a different source.
Using FlashGet3 and they aren't corrupted as they will show up on the PSP...

    I always use this one.

    That's what I'm thinking.

    Or the Memstick..

The one that has GEN-B on it has an official one. Won't run any other installation.

And the one running GEN-D2 has an adapter from Micro SDHC.

    Yep.

    5.00 M33-6 was running perfectly.

And also GEN-B2 is working fine as well...
    And GEN-D2...

Format the memory stick, remove any plugins, ESPECIALLY speedup plugins for your memory stick such as FATMS (phoenix.prx), and try again. Gen-D2/D-3 wont install properly if you have that on your PSP. Remove any version.txt files also from the flash0.

    I didn't have any plugins...
And the MMS was just formatted too.

D2 installed just fine on my other friend's PSP Phat.
