Im trying to play it DeSmuME, but the lag makes it unplayable and graphic glitches are EVERYWHERE. Help please.

I downloaded DeSmuME just 10 minutes ago I think. Nothing isnt configured yet it's all on default.

You can't play NDS games very well yet on emulators, it doesn't even matter what your PC specs are.. No$Gba might be able to play it better though...

When i try it with No$GBA, it says

    Data loading failed.
turn off the power and reinsert the game card.

    NOW WHAT?

NOTE: No$ GBA is on default settings

Go to Option, Emulation Setup, under NDS Backup Media select FLASH 512 KBytes. That might fix it.

    It worked!!!! Thank you Affinity!

EDIT: Actually, after the ESRB notice it says "Save data is corrupted" and then it says "Save failed. Turn off power and reinsert game card."

Does this have to do with the rom's location? It is on the desktop. Also, I'm on Windows Vista is this a compatibility error?

EDIT AGAIN: I tried EEPROM 64kb and the game now works ^^

Thank you for the No$GBA recommendation though.

I was just playing and then I run into the first boss. I hit him a few times (with Gale Force I think) then run to the left. He's off screen. Then i wait for a moment and then suddenly these two gray slashes come out of nowhere and do massive damage (I Game over'd) and the boss wasn't even on the screen! What happened? Is this a sprite glitch?

Speaking of sprites, can someone tell me how to edit the game over screen? It's likely to give nightmares and after a nightmare I'll wake and then be unable to sleep for an hour. (I understand that Castlevania is supposed to be scary, but some things just go too far)

NOTE: This may be in the wrong section. If it is I'm sorry. But it is a technical based issue.

Before anything else, I'd appreciate it if you kept your problems with this game limited to one topic only.

Are you sure it wasn't just one of his special attacks or something? I've played many Castlevania games where I could get hit by enemies and bosses alike that could hit me even when they weren't on the screen at that moment.

    Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin glitch

I'm pretty sure it wasnt a projectile. Maybe it was a real attack from the boss which was supposed to be a projectile attack (I'm VERY sure this boss has a projectile attack) but I was saying that the sprite(s) for it may have been missing but the projectile still had its hitbox. Or the boss somehow became invisible although he's/it's not supposed to normally...As I said, it was a gray slash. The boss has a lance so it was likely the game glitched and he (or IT) became invisible.

That's all I have to say. The topic need no further discussion ::) (though I still want to know how to edit the game over screen. I'll post that somewhere else.)

Oh and thank you for the recommendation of keeping stuff limited to one topic. (I have a thing against topic spam too :))

EDIT: Actually, it WAS his projectile attack. I just couldnt tell until I noticed they appeared when he grabbed his head. It looked like a weapon slash though. Sorry... :-[

Graphic glitches are to be expected though, so don't be surprised it you do come across some.
