Castlevania 3 on the NES

This is probably a very basic problem, but here goes:
Game: Castlevania 3(obviously)
Emulator(that I got it to work on): FakeNESw (0.5.8)
Problem: Every now and then it freezes out of the blue, and it always freezes when I reach the bottom of the second straight upward tube in the clocktower path, right at the top of the stairs of the room where you jump on the first huge gear. I have tried 16 different versions of the same ROM, and they all came up shite at or slightly before the same place.
If someone knows an emulator that doesn't have this problem and uses the proper mapper(s), please direct me in the right direction.
This ROM does not work on any version of Nester(because CV3 uses an "unsupported mapper"), and Nesticle doesn't work either. I'm just kind of scared to try any other emulators that I don't know, so if someone could help me with this problem, I would be very appreciative.
Or if someone knows whether or not the ROM files can get buggy from being compressed in .rar form, direct me to an alternate ROM for this, if you would

 

Try Snes9x.
Go to www.emulator-zone.com

 

That thing runs regular NES ROMS?(I'm not yelling, it's the way it is spelled, sorry.)

I'm not sure, correct me If I'm wrong.
but just go to the above website that I give earlier,
go to the emulator section, choose Nes.
and download the available emulator for nes at there..

I'm not sure because I haven't play any retro games since a decade... ;D

 

That's quite all right. I found what I needed, it was FCEUltra.
It works amazingly well, I almost soiled myslelf at how well it works!

I hope that just in case someone else runs into this problem, I hope that they see this topic.
If you are in the same trouble I was, having trouble running Castlevania III (Castlevania three)(I did that so people can search the term three and find this), use "FCEUltra".

The best NES emulator i have tried is NEStopia.
NESticle is another very good one.

 

FECUltra works well for Ninja Gaiden III as well as Castlevania III

Used Nesticle for everything else.

 

Rockness never failed me...but I admit it is old...

Those games work for mine at least-last revision of it.
