Why can't I see how many posts I have anymore?

In the old forum layout I could see how many posts I have made.

Because post count is an arbitrary value with no inherent benefit that encourages all sorts of undesirable consequences such as spam and/or an inflamed ego. Consult your medical practitioner and request an inoculation of potassium cyanide if you exhibit any of these symptoms.

Lol... I just wanted to see how many posts I got, and I just want ME to see MY OWN posts, I don't want to publicly advertise it...

Go to your profile, your posts, and count them all :)

(Normal users can see the "your posts" under their profile, right?)

Haha. If that is the ony way I can do that, then fine... It really doesn't matter.

** No need to advertise it **

I'd prefer if SMF didn't have user post count at all. It's detrimental to all forums because it becomes the focus point. If people are posting to increase a counter instead of because they have something valuable to contribute then you get shitty content posted the forum as a whole suffer.

While it not being displayed publicly helps a bit, completely removing it so even users won't know would be even better.

Maybe remove the little box ranking for all users.

Sure I'll miss what I got, but...it makes user's think "hang on-how'd he get that high a title"?

I'm for it if it means I'm on the same page as my fellow users.

Too much work. SMF uses post count and removing all traces of it is a lot of work. =/

Hey, did I really advertise my total posts? Crap. Didn't mean to.... :(
Okay, I think this topic is finished.
